Visit to the Moscow circus. The circus has always been one of the most beloved expressions of art for Russians, and Muscovites have been enjoying the circus since the old times, when it was a traditional show of Russian clowns called Balagan. At the beginning of the 19th century the equestrian circus shows coming from Western Europe melded with the Russian culture of the comic circus, producing new shows that rapidly picked up steam in Moscow, featuring a mix of humor and levity on the one side and athletic prowess and horse-riding skills on the other. Since those days circus performers have enjoyed great respect in Russia, even during the Soviet times. We will enjoy a fantastic performance in one of Moscow’s two main circuses.
